'American Horror Story' Season 6 Rumors: Show Set In Two Time Periods

"American Horror Story," the horror anthology series on FX, has never failed to make waves in American television. After the end of season 5, which was marked by the award-winning performance of Lady Gaga, the anthology series has been renewed for a sixth season. This comes after Lady Gaga's Best Actress win in the Golden Globes. According to a report in E! Online, the show's creator Ryan Murphy has started talking to the show's cast members about what role they will play in the coming season.

According to the interview, Murphy revealed that he had started telling the show's returning cast members what character they will play because he had "too much to drink." He however did not give out any hints on what the next season's plot will be.

Among those who will be returning include Angela Bassett who played Ramona in "AHS: Hotel." According to Murphy's interview with E! News, Bassett was shocked with Murphy's revelation about her character.

The report also said that Lady Gaga was offered a role but this has yet to be confirmed because of the singer's upcoming tour schedules.

In a report in iDigitalTimes, one of the plot rumors for the next season has already been debunked. According to the report, earlier news that the show was looking at acquiring the rights to "Slender Man," the 2009 Internet horror meme created by Eric Knudsen, turned out to be false.

Plot details of the season will reportedly be revealed in March, according to the report. Clues have reportedly been appearing in previous seasons of the anthology and details on this will all come out soon. The show's executive producer John Landgraf recently revealed that the next season will be set in two time periods, one in the present time and another in a yet unknown time period. The report likened it to a previous season "AHS: Asylum" which was set in the present and in the 1960s.
