'American Horror Story' Season 7: Show Creator Confirms Upcoming Season Will Be About the 2016 Elections
Season 7 of FX's horror anthology series "American Horror Story" is touching on more political matters as show creator Ryan Murphy confirms that the upcoming season will be about the recent U.S. presidential elections.
In an episode of "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen," Murphy reveals that they will use the 2016 presidential elections as a theme for season 7 of "American Horror Story." However, it does not have an official title yet.
Murphy also shared that they will start shooting for the new season on June. When asked whether or not a character will be based on U.S. President Donald Trump, the creator only answered, "maybe."

So far, only two actors - Sarah Paulson (12 Years A Slave) and Evan Peters (X-Men: Days of Future Past) - are confirmed to star in season 7, and it is still unknown as to what roles they are actually going to play in the show.
Season 6 of "American Horror Story" dealt with the theme "Roanoke," which was presented as a sort of paranormal documentary that followed the travails of a couple who just moved into a house where strange events occurred.
Although many fan theories more or less predicted the theme of the show's sixth season, it was officially kept under wraps up until its premiere. In contrast, it seems the creators are now more open when it comes to discussing season 7's theme. As Murphy puts it, "I think [the elections theme] will be interesting for a lot of people."
By the time season 6 ended its run, FX confirmed the show's renewal for two more seasons after the seventh one. Meaning, fans can anticipate for the show to stick around until its ninth season.
During Entertainment Weekly's PopFest last October 2016, Murphy also revealed that at some point, the series will have a crossover between the events of the first season (Murder House) and its third season (Coven) which makes it "very bizarre." However, this crossover is unlikely to happen within the upcoming season.
