American Life League’s Third Annual National Pro-life T-shirt Day To Be Held April 26

American Life League hopes to unite thousands of youth throughout the nation to share the pro-life message.

Last week, American Life League announced that the third annual National Pro-life T-shirt Day will be held on April 26, 2005.

“This is a day when the youth can speak out against the holocaust of abortion, which has taken the lives of one-third of their generation," stated Erik Whittingtin, director of American Life League’s Youth Outreach. On National Pro-life T-shirt Day, thousands of youth throughout the United States will don shirts bearing pro-life messages in a public statement of support for the sanctity of life.

In past years, participants in the National Pro-life T-shirt Day have faced opposition from school officials, who threaten students with detention, suspension, or expulsion for wearing pro-life T-shirts on campus. The Thomas More Law Center has offered their services to protect the free speech rights of students where suppression is suspected.

Organizers hope to make this year’s event the most successful. "This event truly does save the lives of preborn children, and it also helps spare their mothers from the tragedy of abortion," said Whittington. "The truth is undeniable and it will certainly be impossible to miss on April 26."

American Life League has launched a website (www.NationalProLifeTshirtDay.com) dedicated solely to the event, in order to generate increased publicity and participation. Whittington commented, "With the addition of the web site we can be assured that thousands of young people will take advantage of this opportunity to spread the pro-life message."

“American Life League's National Pro-life T-shirt Day is one of the most important days of the year for pro-life youth activists," said Whittington. "These young people can and do make a difference."

The website provides a brief history and additional information about the National Pro-life T-shirt Day. Official T-shirts may also be purchased from the site.
