'America's Got Talent' 2013 First Elimination Episode Recap

Last night's episode of CBS hit reality competition show "America's Got Talent" marked the first elimination episode of the season. In an emotion and surprising night, a total of eight of the 12 acts who performed in front of a live audience at Radio City Music Hall were voted off the show and sent home.

There was a wide variety of acts last night, from musical duos to levitation to dance groups and even a magician. However, it seems the judges were ready to trim the fat, and sent home all but four acts.

The acts were broken up into four different performance groups. The first group to perform consisted of comedy from Kevin Downey Jr, physical feats from escape artist Alexanderia the Great, and music from sibling band Aarylyn and Izzy.

Unfortunately the show did not start off with a bang, according to the judges. All of those acts were eliminated in a decision from judges Heidi Klum, Howard Stern, Howie Mandel and Mel B.

The second group also contained three acts, that all demonstrated physical talents. The acts included the levitation artist Special Head and two different dance groups, Hype and Fresh Faces.

Again, the judges were not impressed. All three acts were eliminated.

The third round featured another dance group, Tella Vision, as well as magician Collins Key, and the acrobat siblings the Kristef Brothers.

This group fared much better, and both Collins Key and the Kristef Brothers were passed on to the next round. However Tella Vision was sent home.

The final performance group consisted of all musical acts. Performances by the band American Hitmen, singer Anna Christine, and singer Branden James closed the night.

Anna Christine was the only one to survive the cut, and the American Hitmen and Branden James were eliminated.
