Amy Poehler Book 'Full Of Humor and Honesty'
Amy Poehler has confirmed this week that she is penning a new "inspirational" book.
Although the actress is currently experiencing a career high, she is taking time off from acting after signing the book deal with Harper Collins. Poehler co-hosted the Golden Globe Awards alongside Tina Fey earlier this month and her television show "Parks and Recreation" has earned critical acclaim.
The former "Saturday Night Live" star is to write an unconventional memoir that has "universal appeal," according to USA Today. Many excerpts will be inspired by Poehler's interest in "helping young women navigate the adult world."

Furthermore, the yet-to-be-titled book will be "an illustrated, non-linear diary full of humor and honesty and brimming with true stories, fictional anecdotes and life lessons, the book will be a unique and engaging experience from one of today's most talented and beloved stars," read the press release, according to It Books, a part of HarperCollins Publishers.
Meanwhile, Poehler, 41, split from Will Arnett, her husband of nine years, while pregnant with their second child last September. No reason for the divorce was given.
The actress is best known for her role as Indiana government worker Leslie Knope on "Parks and Recreation," but Poehler has also starred in films such as "Baby Mama" and "Mean Girls."
Poehler is not the only actress with plans to write a book appealing to women. HBO's "Girls" creator and star Lena Dunham has also reportedly signed a book deal recently.
The 26-year-old actress signed a deal with Random House for a book entitled "Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She's Learned."
In it, Dunham will offer advice on life and love, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Not That Kind of Girl" includes excerpts about Dunham's love life, eating healthy, fashion tips, worries about death, and "the most awkward date ever with an older director."
"Not That Kind of Girl" was part of the most heated book auctions of the year, with Random House winning the book.

"Her skill on the page as a writer is remarkable – fresh, wise, so assured. She is a rare literary talent that will only grow from strength to strength and we look forward to helping her build a long career as an author."
