Anderson Silva vs Vitor Belfort Rematch Fight News: Dana White Says Fight Is in the Works
The fight between Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort in UFC 126 will go down in mixed martial arts record books as one of the most scintillating knockouts in the history of combat sports. Silva connected a front kick to the face of Belfort, knocking him out to win the match. That was in 2011. Fast-forward, it looks like UFC fans will finally get what they've been longing for — a rematch.
UFC President Dana White told Joe Rogan on the "Joe Rogan Experience" that there are discussions about the possible rematch between the two, effectively delighting the fancy of mixed martial arts fans, including Rogan himself who admitted that it's the fight he wants to see.
White also added that Belfort already confirmed that he's interested but there is no word as of yet if Silva is indeed on board with the plan.

The 38-year-old Belfort is still riding high after knocking out Dan Henderson in the first round during their fight several weeks ago, and he should be more than willing to take a shot at Silva once again in the hope of getting revenge after being knocked out cold four years ago.
It should be noted, though, that Silva is technically still serving his suspension after being found positive for banned substances after his only fight this year against Nick Diaz. He will only be allowed to fight after January next year.
What's even more interesting is that White revealed that UFC 197 is likely going to be held in Rio de Janeiro on March 5. There's nothing more interesting than a rematch of two of the most popular Brazilian fighters in their home soil. This could also mean millions of earnings for the UFC.
Silva currently holds a record of 33-6-1(NC), and while he is still suspended, mixed martial arts experts and observers consider him as the best fighter ever, pound-for-pound. Belfort (25-11), meanwhile, is no stranger to PED accusations, having been subject of issues in recent years. He is a former light heavyweight champion in the UFC and is the last Cage Rage World Light Heavyweight Champion.
