The specs and features for an Android 4.4, KitKat based Sony device known as Sirius leaked earlier this week.

This new handset will be a refresh for the Xperia Z1 and will include a Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM and a 5.2-inch display. A large collection of screenshots showing the software running on the handset were posted up by the Sony dedicated Xperia Blog website. See them here.

"All of those that were earlier talking about Sirius being not much of an upgrade only needs to take a quick scroll below to realize that Sony's KitKat update is mammoth in scale," wrote the site. "There are so many new features that it has taken us hours to digest and articulate in this post."

They display changes that are coming to the design and functionality of Sony's Timescape UI. If these changes roll out in an update Sony devices will see many significant adjustments with its functionality.

The firmware found on the Sirius is based on Android 4.4.2, KitKat and has a build number 17.1.A.X.XXX.

It brings a slew of new features including 4K video recording, Timeshift video, Glove mode, Adjustable white balance, Smart backlight control, double-tap to wake the screen, build-in answering machine in the dialer and much more.

Timeshift mode allows users to record in a high frame rate and then add slow motion effects to it. Glove mode and White balance have been seen on previous Sony devices and will probably be even more impressive on this Sony Sirius. Smart backlight control allows users to keep the screen awake as long as they are looking at it. Once they look away it will turn off on its own.

Other specs to be included on the handset include stereo speakers and the S Force audio engine.
