Android 5.0.1 Lollipop Update for HTC One M8, M7 Release Date Coming
Keeping up with the hype, HTC Corporation answers to its promise of a speedy release of Google's newest OS update, the Android 5.0 Lollipop, as reports indicate that the Taiwan-based tech company is now rolling out the update for its Google Play Edition HTC One M8 and HTC One M7 as of Friday, according to reports.
A late tweet from HTC Executive Mo Versi alerted users about the latest OS version already arriving Over-The-Air (OTA) for the two smartphones, PhoneArena.com reported.
The Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update is said to take up around 500MB worth of memory space and is technically called LRX22C.
The site warned users that they have to make sure their phones have steady Wi-Fi connection before downloading the patch file.
The battery should also have at least 50% of its juice left before taking on the update process.
"Having your phone go dead in the middle of downloading the update could have some negative consequences," the site warned.
The Google system update is said to address a number of issues including "factory reset bug" as well as the "video playback bug." It should reach to the mentioned HTC smartphones wirelessly and an automatic message will prompt the users regarding the update.
For those who aren't prompted, they can access to their phone's Settings>About>Software Updates section to check if it is already available for them.
Still, for adept users, they can follow the following links (provided by GSMArena) should they opt to do it manually.
