Android 5.0 Lollipop for LG G3 News: Update Rolling Out for Select G3 Owners
LG's latest flagship phablet, the LG G3, receives the Google's latest OS iteration, the Android 5.0 Lollipop, this week. However, the update was only (at the moment) available for users in Korea, according to reports.
LG already announced that the Korean versions of the G3 will be getting first the Google Android update later this week. It will be made available through an over-the-air (OTA) download, which will be provided by the three major mobile companies in the region, or directly from LG's website, TechRadar reported.
"Don't despair, though, as that means the international version of the Lollipop update is probably coming soon as well," the tech website meanwhile explained.
Reports pointing out to Android 5.0 Lollipop for LG G3 suggest that the new OS greatly "improves the G3's performance" and that it also includes a variety of essential tweaks and changes that enhances the user's experience more.
The LG G2 was also mentioned and that their Lollipop update will "arrive some time in the future."
The Android 5.0 Lollipop is regarded as a major Android update as it brings users a bundle of new changes like its fresh "radical" UI design and 5000 new APIs, among other features.
Aside from the LG G3, other Android devices like the Google Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10, were also receiving the new OS. The Nexus 6 and Nexus 9, meanwhile, already arrived with Lollipop out of the box.
Motorola, on the other hand, also released the Android 5.0 for their 2014 Moto G versions.
