Android 5.1.1 Lollipop News, Update: Factory Images and OTA Updates Rolling Out to Nexus Devices, Where to Download?
This week saw Google pushing out the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update to a slew of Nexus devices including the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, and the LTE version of Nexus 9.
A report from Phone Arena said that some of the stock Android Nexus devices had already received an Over-The-Air update. For those who can't wait for the OTA to arrive to their units, they can check on the factory images provided below.
Meanwhile, the new mobile operating system update is expected to bring a score of bug fixes that will "hopefully" improve the problems brought by the earlier 5.1.0 patch.
Both the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 5 handsets were manufactured by LG. The HTC-built tablet Nexus 9 (codenamed Volantis), which was launched on October 2014, is also expected to receive the new Lollipop OTA update as well as the 5.1.1 factory image.
As indicated earlier, users who opt to download and install the updates themselves can get the OTA links provided by Google here:
For Nexus 9 (LTE) Android 5.1.1 OTA zip (LRX22L to LMY47X)
For Nexus 5 Android 5.1.1 OTA zip (LMY47I to LMY48B)
For Nexus 5 Android 5.1.1 OTA zip (LMY47D to LMY48B)
And for Nexus 4 Android 5.1.1 OTA zip (LMY47O to LMY47V)
Note that there's two different links provided for Nexus 5. According to Android Central, who shared the download links, users need to check first which build of 5.1 their unit is currently running with.
