Android 7.0 Nougat Release Date: AT&T, T-Mobile Rolling Out OS Update to Galaxy S7, S7 Edge Units

Learn more about what the Android 7.0 Nougat update brings to Samsung devices

More Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge owners can now look forward to receiving the full Android 7.0 Nougat update.

That's because both AT&T and T-Mobile are expected to make this operating system update available to more device owners in the very near future.

Starting off with AT&T, in a recent report, Android Police shared some screenshots showing that the carrier is now making the update available over the air. Notably, the screenshots apparently show the Galaxy S7 Edge getting the Nougat update, though it's likely rolling out to S7 devices now as well.

Moving on now to T-Mobile, subscribers who own the aforementioned Samsung Galaxy devices who also haven't received the Nougat update just yet, can expect that to change very soon.

T-Mobile specifically noted that Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge units should start seeing the OS update made available over the air starting Feb. 20.

Just like with downloading earlier OS updates, device owners aiming to get the Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade will need to ready their smartphones first.

The folks over at T-Mobile have advised subscribers to secure a reliable internet connection and to at least have their devices running with more than 50 percent battery life before they proceed to download the update. Subscribers may need to create some extra space on their smartphones as well before they can begin the download.

Once the Nougat update makes its way to the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, device owners can expect to see some new additions, according to Samsung.

Additions such as Performance Mode as well as an improved Multi Window feature should provide owners with new ways to utilize their devices. Enhanced download speeds and user interface tweaks should help improve the devices too.

More news about the Android 7.0 Nougat update and when it may reach Samsung Galaxy devices should be made available soon.
