Although Anne Hathaway is currently promoting her new film, “One Day,” the actress recently spoke about her Catwoman costume in the highly anticipated “The Dark Knight Rises” movie.
After an image of Hathaway in a black suit unfamiliar to fans of the Catwoman character surfaced, questions were raised about her wardrobe in the film. The black attire lacked the ears and mask associated with the villain; however Hathaway assured fans that they have only viewed a portion of her outfit.
"What I am happy to say is: If you didn’t like the photo…you only see about a tenth of what that suit can do,” Hathaway told MTV about the picture that premiered on the internet.
In an interview with late-night talk show host and comedian Chelsea Handler, Hathaway admitted that her Catwoman costume was not flattering to her figure. According to MTV reports, three people had to help Hathaway get into the suit that she spent six months acting in.
The actress said she had to develop a strict diet and exercise regiment in order to fit into the costume.
"I’m like living on kale and dust for training,” Hathaway told Handler in a recent interview.
Although the vegetarian actress admitted to disliking her diet, she said the fitness routine in which she subscribed to was also difficult to handle.
"There's a workout hump where you're so weak that you hate everything and everything's painful, and you look like an idiot," Hathaway told Handler. "Like, the gym that I work out at, I was literally working out next to a pregnant Jessica Alba, and she could do more push-ups than I could!"
Despite Hathaway’s grueling experience to fit into her costume, the Catwoman actress admits to now enjoying her workouts.
“Last time I was here we talked about how much I really don't like working out," she told Handler.
While Hathaway is currently on a promotional tour for her “One Day” film that premiered on Friday, she will make her debut as Catwoman in “The Dark Knight Rises” next July.
