Adam Shulman, Hathaway's husband of one year, was spotted opening doors for his wife on her birthday in Los Angeles after a celebratory gathering with "a lot of friends," according to Us magazine.

The event took place in West Hollywood at a private wine room in Crossroads- a restaurant favorite among celebrities such as Katy Perry.

"There were around 40 people attending- two long tables for a sit-down dinner with candles," the source said, before adding that the meal at the vegan establishment included multiple courses such as salads and appetizers.

Hathaway was spotted wearing a turtleneck paired with a spiky necklace and cheetah-print tights during the celebration.

"Anne looked great," the onlooker added. "She got up a lot and was socializing with guests."

Coincidentally, Ryan Gosling also celebrates a birthday on Nov. 12. The Hollywood heartthrob is celebrating his 33rd birthday this year.

Meanwhile, as Hathaway marks her 31st year, the actress just shut down rumors that she is expecting her first child. Rumors arose after her brother reportedly told a comedy crowd that the actress was pregnant, but Hathaway's rep dismissed the story.

Nevertheless, Hathaway has voiced desires to start a family with Shulman, who she wed in Sept. 2012, soon.

"I'm the only one here who's not a mother. I hope to join the ranks soon," Hathaway told The Hollywood Reporter during an interview alongside actresses Naomi Watts, Helen Hunt, Amy Adams, Rachel Weisz, Marion Cotillard and Sally Field.
