Apollo Nida Shares Marriage Advice With Todd Tucker

Apollo Nida is sharing the advice that he recently gave "Real Housewives of Atlanta" husband Todd Tucker, who just married the show's cast member Kandi Burruss last April.

While Tucker is a television producer, his new wife is a millionaire singer-songwriter and producer. Nida, the husband of attorney and aspiring mortician Phaedra Parks on the popular Bravo TV series, believes he is imparting some wisdom to Tucker after being married for five years.

As a man who made less money than his wife upon marrying her, Nida said he identified with Tucker.

"It doesn't matter what Kandi has at the end of the day," Apollo told blogger StraightfromtheA. "Make sure you put your foot down … make sure you voice your opinion, because I went into my relationship not really voicing an opinion."

While Nida explained why he was nonchalant in his marriage, he may have considered being passive a mistake.

"I believed that my wife had my best interest at hand… 1 being my wife, and 2 being an attorney," Nita told SFTA.com. "So I was really nonchalant and I just fell back. So I told him, 'don't make the mistake that I made.'"

Nida seemed to regret not speaking up more in his marriage.

"Not saying that someone was taking advantage of me, but it was a mistake not being proactive and not being hands-on and knowing A through Z," Nida told SFTA.com. "You have to know, if you've done what I've done by not speaking up, you're going to be blindsided."

Nida made headlines earlier this year for allegedly creating fake businesses, false bank accounts and using stolen checks while defrauding automotive lenders, according to Access Atlanta. The Associated Press reported that Nida, the 35-year-old fitness guru and reality television personality, has officially admitted being involved in conspiracy to commit mail, wire, and bank fraud worth $2.3 million across 11 states.

While Nida will be sentenced in July and faces 30 years in prison, he previously explained being unsure of the future concerning his marriage.

He spoke about the possibility of his wife leaving him if he were to go to prison.

"I think Phaedra, in a perfect world, should be supportive as a wife should be ... But if she chooses to derail from the plan, then that's what she chooses to do," he previously said on the V103 radio station. "Apollo is prepared for whatever happens in life. Whatever's been thrown at me, I deal with it."
