Apple Inc. to release iOS 9 for public next month

Apple Inc. will be officially releasing the new iOS 9 to the public next month and is rolling out new features that aim to create a better user experience for its customers.

Compared with the iOS 8, the iOS 9 has new and well-anticipated features that were designed to make Apple devices at par with its competitors. The Multitasking feature, which is already being used in some Android devices, will allow Apple users to use two applications simultaneously on one screen, according to The Next Digit.

The upgraded iOS 9 now allows users to open two windows at the same time and let them switch from one app to the other. Before, users had to tap the home button twice to use two apps and only one window could be accommodated on the screen.

The Split View mode will let iPad users open two apps side-by-side. The Slide Over mode, on the other hand, will let users see active applications arranged on top of each other, Jobs & Hire details.

Samsung's Note series and other Android devices have already launched the Multitasking feature ahead of Apple. The iOS 9 upgrade is something that Apple users have been waiting to have for a long time.

Another new feature in the iOS 9 is the replacement of the four-digit code with a new six-digit code for unlocking an iOS device. With the new security feature comes a more complicated-looking phone lock screen, the report states.

Aside from the two features, Apple has also added the WiFi Assist feature in its new mobile operating system. Devices with iOS 9 will be able to switch from WiFi and cellular connection automatically. If the software detects that the WiFi connection is slowing down, it will immediately turn on mobile data to allow users to continue online activities without manually switching their data connections, the report explains.

One of the coolest features included in the iOS 9 is Predictive Siri, which now has the ability to learn the user's habits and the apps that they usually open. After monitoring user behavior for a couple of weeks, the device will begin providing suggestions on the task the user wants to do next.

Apple will release the final version of iOS 9 to the public in September.
