Apple iPad Pro vs Huawei MateBook News & Update: Cortana Pokes Fun at Siri in Latest Video Ad; Specs and Features Compared

The tablet market is a rather crowded one despite the declining public reception. However, tech companies continue to dish out premium options for the people to choose from, including the hybrid 2-in-1 tablets. With Apple still perceived as dominant, Chinese company Huawei takes a jab at the iPad Pro in its latest campaign.

Campaign Antics

In the video campaign, the Huawei MateBook is seen joining a literal tech party attended by the iPad Pro and the Surface Pro 4. The MateBook sarcastically congratulates the Apple iPad Pro for its new keyboard. However, it then focuses unto its own features, as it also comes with an optional keyboard, plus a few other tricks up its sleeves.

The very entertaining video concludes with the Surface Pro 4 and the Huawei MateBook acquaint each other through the mutual Cortana. The iPad Pro's Siri then says the concluding line that it would no longer attend parties anymore. This so-called party is then reserved for 2-in-1 tablets that can actually function as a computer on its own.

As a new iPad Pro lineup is geared to be released later this year, other companies have launched campaigns to sell their competing products more. Microsoft recently launched the computer party ad, with Huawei joining the band to take a jab at the Apple tablet.

Specs Comparison

Both the iPad Pro and the Huawei MateBook have huge displays for a tablet, with different aspect ratios and form factors. The iPad Pro's 12.9-inch screen has a 2732 x 1248 resolution while the MateBook has a 2160 x 1440-pixel resolution on a 12-inch display panel. The iPad Pro also has a smaller option at 9.7 inches of display.

The two 2-in-1 tablets somewhat struggle in ports and connections though. While the iPad Pro only has a headphone jack and a single Lightning Port, the MateBook only has a headphone jack and a USB 3.1 Type-C port. However, the two tablets connect to a paired keyboard for additional functionality, as well as a stylus for more precise input.

Apple's iPad Pro is powered by the A9X chip, clocked at 2.26GHz, while Huawei's MateBook is run by Intel's sixth generation Core M clocked at 3.1GHz. Both 2-in-1 tablets then come with 4GB of RAM, with the MateBook having an 8GB version.

The iPad Pro's software is upgradeable to the iOS 10, while the MateBook runs Windows 10 natively. It is worth noting that the Apple device runs on a mobile operating system, while the Huawei offering runs on a desktop environment.
