Apple iPhone 6 Plus vs Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Review: Comparison of Specs, Features

Smartphones have gotten bigger and better this year as Apple unveiled its iPhone 6 Plus alongside its newest flagship phone, the iPhone 6. Samsung is likewise taking things to the max with its Galaxy Note 4. With the two smartphones being launched within six days of each other last September, many are still wondering which among these two devices is truly worth the money.

Here, we compare the Galaxy Note 4 and iPhone 6 Plus side by side:

Design:
The iPhone 6 Plus has an aluminium body that is similar to that of the HTC One M8, while the Galaxy Note 4 sports a faux leather back and a metal strip that runs along the edge of the handset. Both are unique, but the iPhone 6 Plus definitely has a more luxurious feel to it.

The 6 Plus comes in gold, silver, and space grey variants, while the Galaxy Note 4 is available in black, white, gold, and pink options.

When it comes to size, the Samsung phone measures 6.04 x 3.09 x 0.33 inches and it weighs 6.21 ounces, versus the iPhone 6 Plus' dimensions of 6.22 x 3.06 x 0.28 at 6.07 ounces.

Features:
The Galaxy Note 4 seems to have the edge over the Apple smartphone when it comes to its display, although when comparing side by side it can be felt these really are two top phones when it comes to display. The Samsung phone has a 5.7 inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, while the iPhone 6 Plus' screen measures 5.5 inches and has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels.

When it comes to cameras, the Galaxy Note 4 wins this round again if it's based purely on megapixels, with its 16MP main camera and 3.7MP front-facing camera versus the iPhone 6 Plus' 8MP main camera and 1.2MP front-facing snapper. However, the lens of the iPhone is excellent, and in many tests the iPhone 6 Plus does appear to give what could be argued as the better shot, especially when it comes to photos in low-light.

The Apple phone is powered by the Apple A8 dual core processor and runs on iOS 8, while the Samsung phone has the Exynos 7 octa core processor and runs on Android 4.4. Some variants of the Note 4 have the snapdragon 805 processor.

For internal storage, the iPhone 6 has different variants of 16GB, 64GB and also one with an astounding 128GB internal storage, but like all other iPhones, these variants cannot be expanded as they don't have a microSD slot. On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 4 has 32 GB built in memory but can be expanded with a microSD card up to 128GB.

The iPhone 6 Plus starts at $750, while the Galaxy Note 4 costs $650.
