Apple iPhone 6 vs. Samsung Galaxy Note 4: Bigger Screens, Bigger Competition
The battle between Apple and Samsung is still fiery though it looks as if Apple has made the first move with the unveiling of the iPhone 6 on Sept. 9. Looks like the Cupertino company has opted to enlarge their screen sizes to keep up with Samsung but how will the iPhone 6 fare with the upcoming Galaxy Note 4?
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has not gone larger than its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 3, and is still at the same 5.7-inches but even without the display size increase, it still outmatches the iPhone 6 – even with the larger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus. Still, it may not be a matter of size but of how sharp the display is.
It was only recently confirmed that the Galaxy Note 4 will be coming with the 2560 x 1440 QHD resolution display, putting it at a whopping 500 pixels per inch. The smaller iPhone 6 has a Retina display screen resolution of 1334 x 750, the same as the iPhone 5S. The iPhone 6 Plus on the other hand comes with a 1920 x 1080, or full HD resolution.

The Galaxy Note 4 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core 2.7GHz processor, enough to power the QHD screen. It will also be running on a 3GB RAM and will get at least 32GB of internal storage and extendable with a microSD card of up to 128GB.
The iPhone 6 on the other hand runs on its second generation 64-bit A8 chipset and even has an M8 motion coprocessor. It would have the usual underpowered specs of an iPhone with only a dual-core 1.4GHz CPU and sticking with its 1GB RAM.
As for the pricing, the Note 4 is expected to be quite expensive, even costing more than the already expensive Galaxy S5. For the iPhone 6, pre-orders start on Sept. 12 and can be bought at Apple and with wireless carriers but its retail price is at $650 while going as low as $200 for the 4.7-inch version and $300 for the Plus on major U.S. carriers.
