Apple Launches iOS 8.4 Preview

Apple released its iOS 8.4 beta less than a week after launching its iOS 8.3, with the new OS featuring a revamped Music app.

Earlier reported by 9to5Mac as including a brand new Music application, the new OS in beta presents a revolutionary new design to make it easier and more enjoyable for users to personalize their playlists with images and descriptions and explore their music collection.

Users will be able to play an album straight from their album list, with recently added playlists and album content featured at the top of the library.

The streamlined iTunes Radio facilitates easier music discovery with users given the option to make a quick return to their favorite station under the Recently Played section, choose from hand-curated stations under Featured Stations, or create their own from their favorite artists' songs.

The preview also includes a new MiniPlayer that gives users a visual of the current song playing, as well as control playback while they look through their music collection. Users can simply tap on the MiniPlayer to open Now Playing, which has also been revamped with a new design.

Users will be able to wirelessly stream their music via AirPlay, even without leaving Now Playing, and can search any section of the Music app by tapping the magnifying glass icon.

The iOS 8.4 beta on iPad will present users with its new split-screen interface, with a complete removal of the landscape interface on iPhone.

At present the iOS 8.4 Music app introduces the new software design, with Apple expected to announce its streaming service at the WWDC in June.
