Apple Watch News: Upcoming Updates for the Wearable Tech Including A 'Find My Watch' Feature

Apple is now getting ready to release a host of software and hardware updates for its recently-released wearable tech, the Apple Watch, according to reports.

A report from 9to5mac said that their reliable sources have tipped them about the new updates from the Cupertino-based tech giant which are "currently in development."

Among the features that Watch wearers are expected to get include the enhanced Apple Watch security, connectivity with other Apple devices, more health and fitness apps, Wi-Fi networking capabilities, as well as the integration of the third-party applications.

The report went on to point out a new feature which the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus maker is currently developing and it is dubbed as "Find My Watch."

As the name clearly suggests, the feature allows the user "to track location, as well as lock or remotely wipe it if it is lost or stolen."

The premise of the feature, according to the site, echoes similarly with the "Find my iPhone" for the Apple iPhones and "Find my Mac" for OS X computers.

It was further revealed by the sources of the publication that the company has long been developing the security feature, even long before the device was shipped to the market. However, pressing matters like the need for "novel connectivity solutions" forced the company to stall the project.

Moreover, a new functionality nicknamed "Smart Leashing" is also coming with the update. It basically prompts the user through his or her iPhone if the Watch is already out of range, relative to the handheld device.

"Apple wants to give [a user] a tap or a light notice if it thinks [he or she is] accidentally leaving [the] phone somewhere," a source told 9to5Mac.

More details about these purported Apple Watch updates are expected to be revealed during the Apple's WWDC event which is slated to take place on June 8. Until then, these reports are to be taken with a proverbial grain of salt.
