iPhone 6 Release Date Rumors: Apple Event 2014, September 9 Streaming Live?

Apple is finally getting set to launch the new iPhone 6 on Tuesday Sept. 9 in probably one of its biggest held events this year.

The company is going to hold a big event in its headquarters in Cupertino, California and have already sent out invitations to journalists, developers and critics.

The event will feature a keynote by Apple, most likely the iPhone 6 announcement. The invitation states "Wish we could say more," as well as the date 9.9.2014. The phrase could mean anything but it could likely mean Apple will also be announcing the iWatch.

The event will be held at the Flint Center for the Performing Arts. The venue was where they first launched the original Macintosh computer and the iPhone 5. The center can hold as much as 2,400 people and it seems Apple is intending to launch the iPhone 6 with a big bang.

The event will also be broadcast online for those who want to watch the keynote. Those who wish to watch it online can do so through iTunes on any iPhone, iPad, or iTouch. It will also be streamed on Apple.com but is restricted to the Safari web browser.

The Cupertino company has still not announced any official details but there are speculations that two versions of the iPhone 6 will be announced – a 4.7-inch version and a 5.5-inch version.

Also, it would seem that Apple is working with various credit card companies like Mastercard, Visa, and American Express to launch a payment system which would allow users to link their credit card to their devices. Allegedly this would make use of the TouchID fingerprint scanner feature as a security measure.
