'Aquaman' News: James Wan Ready to Take the Challenge

After the appearance of Jason Momoa in the most recent DC film "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," there has been a lot of anticipation for his upcoming solo film "Aquaman."

"Batman v Superman: Dance of Justice" finally introduced the core members of the Justice League to the DC Extended Universe. This included Wonder Woman, Cyborg, The Flash, and Aquaman. However, it left fans wondering just how Warner Brothers will portray Aquaman on the big screen, since the character has lackluster reputation in the DC Comics.

It was revealed that the film will be directed by James Wan, who is willing to take on the challenge of bringing the DC superhero to life in the big screens. He spoke to MTV news about his plans to make an impact with the upcoming movie.

He said, "A big part of it was me telling them what potential I saw in this character. As we all know, Aquaman is somewhat the butt of the joke in the superhero world. There's something cool about that. I love the idea of being the underdog, coming in with a take on this underdog character and completely blow people's expectations away."

In addition, a report by Coming Soon showed the film's executive producer Charles Roven, commending the work of James Wan. He believed that Wan will be able to give the character justice.

He said, "James is not only a great storyteller but can make action truly explode on the big screen, and Jason has a dynamic presence that commands your attention. Together, they will bring an undeniable vitality and energy to this character as he headlines his first feature film."

With that, fans are hoping to see a lot out of the upcoming film. In addition, it can be expected that the film will continue with the dark tone presented in the DC Extended Universe.
