Ariel Winter, the 14-year-old star of "Modern Family," was removed from her home due to allegations of abuse by her mother, reports state. While the teen has been placed under the guardianship of her sister, her mother continues to deny any and all allegations of abuse.

According to court sources, Winter was removed from her home in early October after a judge ruled that it was unsafe for her to remain in the care of her mother. The sources told TMZ that Winter was then placed under the guardianship of her 34-year-old sister, Shanelle Workman.

The judge also put a restraining order in place and told Winter's mother, Crystal Workman, that she must remain 100 yards away from her daughter. Workman has adamantly denied all claims of abuse, telling People magazine, "It's all untrue; it's all untrue."

"I have my doctor's letter that my daughter's never been abused. I have stylists' letters that she's never been abused," Crystal added.

Yet a court thought there was enough evidence to remove Winter from the home. The judge's decision has seemingly split the family in half, with Workman taking responsibility for her sister and Winter's brother, Jimmy Workman, siding with his mother.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Jimmy Workman "states that the allegations are completely untrue and that Ariel, who now lives with her sister, does not speak to the rest of the family and says that their mother does everything for Winter."

Law enforcement sources also told TMZ that Shanelle had been removed from her mother's custody and was never again placed with her. She was removed under the same circumstances as Ariel and placed in foster care.

Ariel emerged on the scene with her smart-as-a-whip character on "Modern Family" and has continued to work on the series throughout this entire ordeal.
