'ARK: Survival Evolved' News: Open World Dinosaur Survival Game Revealed
A unique survival video game is coming soon and this one has dinosaurs. Game developer Studio Wildcard recently announced the development of "ARK: Survival Evolved" through the release of a game trailer and sharing some of the game's details. The game is being developed for multiple platforms namely PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
According to a report in IGN, the game will be available on Steam Early Access next month. The game's is described as follows: "As a man or woman stranded naked, freezing and starving on the shores of a mysterious island called ARK, use your skill and cunning to kill or tame & ride the leviathan dinosaurs and other primeval creatures roaming the land. Hunt, harvest resources, craft items, grow crops, research technologies, and build shelters to withstand the elements, while teaming up with or preying upon hundreds of other players to survive, dominate ... and escape!
The game is a player versus player, open-world survival game set in a world abound with dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes. It is also categorized as a massively multiplayer online game with many players. Players can ride dinosaurs and find ways of controlling them to aid in their survival against predators and other players. According to a Eurogamer report, the developer plans to have over 60 different species of dinosaurs, moving within "a fleshed out ecosystem in which they'll freely roam around the world and eat each other."

The report also cited that the game is being developed with virtual reality or VR in mind, especially with advancement in VR technology for gaming. The game however is playable even without VR.
When the game arrives on Steam Early Access in June, it is reported to have over 30 dinosaurs available for gameplay. Release for next generation consoles will be announced at a later date.
