'Arrow' Season 4 Release Date, Cast News: Stephen Amell Remains Optimistic for A Batman Appearance

The anticipation is high for the return of The CW's hit superhero drama TV series "Arrow" for its fourth season. Fans may already know about the new stuff coming in towards the new installment of the show like the upcoming big baddie, Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), a new Green Arrow suit, new collaborators, and so much more.

This week, however, revealed yet another wish list item for the show: Batman.

ComicBookMovie.com (via Screen Rant) recently caught up with show's lead star, Stephen Amell, during his appearance at the Wizard World Comic Con in Chicago. The actor revealed to the audience that he has already finished doing the scenes with the show's upcoming guest star, Matt Ryan, who plays the fan-favorite character, Constantine.

The actor, who recently participated at the WWE SummerSlam event, can't help but express his fascination towards the Welsh actor.

"He is such a treat. And a trip," he said (via CBM). Not much has been known about Constantine's role in the show but it was rumoured that he will be tied in to the resurrection of Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) as the White Canary.

The conversation with the press however segued to the possibility of DC's popular superhero, The Dark Knight, sneaking in to Starling City.

Amell revealed that he has already discussed it with DC Entertainment chief Diane Nelson who was quite half-hearted about the cross-over issue. The actor himself admits that it would be "tough" to tag in Bruce Wayne into the CW programming.

Nevertheless, the 34-year-old Canadian remains hopeful, if not optimistic, of having the Caped Crusader into the Arrow-verse.

"In the same way that… [Ezra Miller's] playing the Flash in the cinematic universe – theoretically, we haven't seen him yet – I see no reason why we couldn't have our own Bruce Wayne. That's my opinion; that might not be DC's opinion, and they're the bosses," he said (via CBM).

"Arrow" Season 4 is slated to premiere October 7 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
