'Arrow' Plot News, Update: Showrunner Teases Season 4's Big Bad Crashing VIP Parties

Big changes are expected to come over for the 4th season of The CW's hit superhero drama TV series "Arrow." Earlier reports already indicated that the show's titular character (Stephen Amell) would be getting a revamp on his suit, live in a new lair, and be acquainted with new characters both good and bad.

What's more? A new TV scoop from TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich seems to confirm the earlier rumors that Oliver Queen's beloved city will now be renamed to "Star City." Although the Season 2 new supervillain won't be the one responsible for the rebranding of the city, Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) will still have some influence on it.

Speaking of Dahrk, executive producer Marc Guggenheim further told the media outlet the huge difference of this season's main villain to those from the show's past.

"He's very different from our previous Big Bads in that he's not hiding in the shadows," Guggenheim said to TVLine. "But at the same time, he doesn't have a public persona." However, this won't keep the baddie from knocking on everyone's doors.

The showrunner added that Darhk "shows up at a very public meeting that Lance [Paul Blackthorne] is present at."

"If Darhk wants to show up somewhere, he's certainly going to!" Guggenheim further teased.

This isn't the first time that the EP divulged details on the new enemy. Earlier last month, Guggenheim said in an interview that Darhk is really a "different kind of villain."

He is not as "centurion as Ra's," not as "looney tune as Slade," and not as "noble as Malcom Merlyn."

Guggenheim described him as someone who is "pure evil," someone who is "truly, truly malevolent."

"All of our big bads always thought they were doing... the wrong thing for the right reason. This guy does the wrong thing for the wrong reasons," he went on to say.

Fans will finally get to know how this character measures up with Ollie when "Arrow" Season 4 premieres October 7 on The CW.
