'Arrow' Season 2 Spoilers: The Flash Returns, Threatens Team Arrow

"Arrow" returns to The CW after one week off with the first of five final episodes in season two this Wednesday, April 16.

The hit drama series took a week-long hiatus last week, but "Arrow" fans can look forward to Wednesday night's installment picking up right where the show left off. More information on the upcoming episode, including its title -- "The Man Under the Hood" -- was just recently made available by "Arrow" show runner Marc Guggenheim. He explained that the title and credits provided clues that would give away the show's plot.

"The reason I've been holding off on tweeting the title page for Episode 19 is that 19 is co-written by Geoff Johns, Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti, and the team behind The Flash, and I felt like, if I tweeted that, the jig would be up," Guggenheim told Collider.

"Little did I know, the jig would get out itself," he added, before revealing some spoilers.

"Danielle Panabaker, who plays Caitlin, and Carlos Valdes, who plays Cisco, two members of the Star Labs that are part of the regular team of The Flash, do make an important appearance in Episode 19 of 'Arrow,'" Guggenheim revealed. "This was something that really came about because Barry was in a coma at the end of Episode 9 and that made it impossible for Barry to appear in episodes 19 or 20 of 'Arrow.' He's gotta stay in a coma until October of next year."

"But, the idea of bringing in those characters really appealed to us because it allowed us to honor our original intention that we had at the beginning of the year, to do something Flash-related in Episode 19 or 20, without having comatose Barry and paying Grant Gustin a lot of money to sit around with his eyes closed, unconscious for the whole episode," he added.

The synopsis for "The Man Under the Hood" is as follows: "Arrow battles Slade, which results in a member of Team Arrow going to the hospital. Meanwhile, Thea hits her breaking point; and Laurel struggles with a new secret."

"Arrow" airs on The CW Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST.
