'Arrow' season 4 cast, news, spoilers: Stephen Amell addresses Batman possibility and describes working with Constantine

"Arrow" is one of the DC shows that seems to be trying to stick more to its comic origins, with more accurate changes happening in the upcoming season. Aside from stoylines, the series hasn't also been shy to introduce new character crossovers fluidly. In the last season, viewers' favorite crossover was the Flash into a number of episodes. Because of this, many fans wonder if other DC heroes will be entering the show at some point this season.

One of the desired hero appearances would be Batman. Screenrant reports that in the recent Wizard World Comic-Con, Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen also the Arrow, addressed this rumor. He does express openness to the crossover; however, it seems that DC Entertainment chief Diane Nelson is not enthusiastic about the idea as she does not want to add unnecessary character overlap. If it does happen, Amell thinks that casting their own version of Batman would be more likely. He explains, "In the same way that… [Ezra Miller's] playing the Flash in the cinematic universe — theoretically, we haven't seen him yet — I see no reason why we couldn't have our own Bruce Wayne. That's my opinion; that might not be DC's opinion, and they're the bosses." Furthermore, Amell is confident that his character will be able to handle the entrance of such an iconic DC character, although it can be really tough.

More on ambitious crossovers, Amell also talked about working with "Constantine" lead star Matt Ryan. For the followers of the series, by now, they know that the Hellblazer will be dropping by and is now known as Star City (previously named Starling City). John Constantine will be responsible for bringing back Sara Lance as the White Canary, from the Lazarus pit, following the show's current theme of mysticism and magic. This would also be the first time that a character from another network will be appearing on Arrow.

Amell describes how it felt working with Ryan. "I've been filming scenes all week long with Matt Ryan. He is such a treat. And a trip. He's always saying his lines — and he's getting ready to go on Broadway right now with Keira Knightley, so he's always saying those lines, too. I can't tell if he's having a conversation with me, or preparing. And sometimes I chime in, he'll be like 'I wasn't talking to you, mate.'"

Viewers look forward to this episode as Arrow returns for season 4 on Oct. 7, Wednesday, at 8 p.m. on The CW.
