'Arrow' Season 4 Spoilers: Felicity as the Oracle

The upcoming return of "Arrow" is expected to see the transformation of a major character.

The recent trailer of the series hinted that Felicity Smoak will soon be making a big change in her life. It was revealed that she could be taking on the role of Oracle when the season returns.

Fans have been speculating the idea of it since there was the possibility of Damien Darhk paralyzing her from the waist down. In the original comics, Barbara Gordon was seen shot by The Joker, which left her paralyzed. She then became the oracle, who is a computer hacker who feeds information to other superheroes.

In the comics, the Oracle is the leader of a female superhero team called "The Birds of Prey." The group includes Black Canary and the Huntress.

The promotional trailer hinted at the idea of Felicity in an unfortunate situation when Oliver arrived at the hospital welcomed by Donna Smoak. Aside from Felicity's fate, the trailer also showed Oliver going against Damien Darhk. Since Darhk was seen trying to kill Felicity, fans can expect that Oliver will come in full force at the dangerous villain.

However, it seems as though more misfortune will be presented to Oliver. The premiere of "Arrow" season 4 showed Oliver standing in front of a tombstone. As he looked sad, it can be expected that he will be losing someone he cares a lot about.

With many events about to take place in the series, the return is sure to be exciting. Meanwhile, there are speculations that "Arrow" will be nearing its end. It was reported that star of the series Stephen Amell recently hinted that season 5 of "Arrow" could be the last for the series. However, this has yet to be confirmed.

"Arrow" season 4 is expected to return on The CW this Jan. 20.
