'Arrow' Season 5: Star City Will Be Safe in Season Finale; Nick Tarabay Hints Return of Captain Boomerang

"Arrow" star Nick Tarabay recently teased the return of Captain Boomerang in The CW's hit action crime TV series. The season 5 finale is just around the corner and the show's creator and executive producer, Marc Guggenheim, revealed in a recent interview that some characters will return to the fray to lend a hand to Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell).

Season 5 has been packed with surprising events and challenging storylines, including the all-out war involving Oliver and Prometheus/Adrian Chase (Josh Segarra). As fans saw new characters introduced in the series, they also saw some characters leave, and one of them was Tarabay, who played Digger Harkness/Captain Boomerang.

Last week, the actor took to Twitter to share a photo of his character in "Arrow." The photo shows Captain Boomerang's arm and hand covered with a thick coat, holding his signature boomerang. In the caption, he wrote, "Who really misses this guy? Cause you know... What goes around ALWAYS comes back around."

While he did not confirm outright that he will reprise his role in the hit series, the photo hinted that he might be back as Captain Boomerang in "Arrow." Back in 2014, "Arrow" and "The Flash" had a crossover, and Tarabay's character was the main villain. In the said crossover, Oliver defeated him and sent him to A.R.G.U.S.

Meanwhile, Guggenheim recently teased in his interview with Entertainment Weekly that Star City will be safe in the season 5 finale, as some friends return to help Team Arrow in its struggle against Prometheus.

"You can expect a good number of returning characters, characters you haven't seen in a while, back in the episode," he said.

The latest episode of "Arrow" saw the return of Artemis/Evelyn Sharp (Madison McLaughlin), who took off after being revealed as a traitor.

"Arrow" season 5 airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
