Although not dominating, Brendan Rodgers' men have done enough to get maximum points off their opponents in a 1-0 win over Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium paired with another 1-0 win over AFC Bournemouth in their first home game at Anfield.

Philippe Coutinho has solidified his role as the best Liverpool player in the squad after an incredible effort against Stoke to give them the win, while Christian Benteke already opened up his scoring career with Liverpool with his effort against Bournemouth.

They hope to continue their impressive form as they face one of their top rivals in Arsenal.

The Gunners failed to win their first match as they lost 2-0 to West Ham United in a surprise loss. Questions were raised in the defeat as the Gunners were expected to battle for the title but were underwhelming in their debut.

They answered back with a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace with Olivier Giroud scoring for Arsenal.

However, they are still considered lucky to get the win as they had to rely on an own goal by Palace in order to hand their London rivals the victory.

If Arsenal wants to really challenge for the top spots in the league, they will have to find their touch against Liverpool as this is their first real test in the early parts of the season.

Both teams will want to get a big win over each other as they will go head-to-head for positioning later in the campaign.
