With only three games left in their domestic schedule, Genoa find themselves 12th in the league with 43 points.

They are safe from relegation as they are eight points ahead of Palermo who sit in the first relegation spot in the table. And with Palermo only playing for six more points, they will have no chance to catch Genoa even if the latter lose all their remaining games.

However, Genoa are still hoping to close out the campaign on a high note as they are currently in a slump after only winning one of their last three.

After AS Roma, Genoa still have Sampdoria and Atalanta so getting points against Roma will be their toughest test before enjoying the end of the campaign.

However, it will not be easy as AS Roma are still hungry for a win.

They are ensured a spot in the UEFA Champions League next year as they are only competing for second or third place – with fourth place Inter Milan seven points behind with only two games left to play.

On that note, Roma are still hoping that they can climb up a spot as they are only two points behind Napoli who are second and the difference between the two spots is an automatic qualification to the group stage of the European competition.

As it is, Roma will be part of the qualifying round of the Champions League and they will want to avoid that by finishing second.

Roma have won their last two games and have Chievo and AC Milan to deal with after their battle with Genoa.
