After attending the Emmy Awards with her husband Dario Franchitti, Ashley Judd has been listed among the top worst dressed celebrities at Sunday's show.
The 44-year-old actress was nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Miniseries of TV Movie for her role in "Missing." Judd hit the red carpet in a metallic light purple halter-top custom made gown by Carolina Herrera, but decided to pair the dress with a sky high bouffant up-do, which left some fans unimpressed.
E! News referred to Judd's hairstyle as a "freakishly large bouffant," while WetPaint.com compared the actress' look to "The Jersey Shore" star Snooki.
Meanwhile, Judd gushed over her hairstyle on her Twitter account.
"My hair is so grand I am sitting on the floor of the car on our way to the Emmys," wrote the actress.
Later, she noted that the hairstyle was unlike any other she had ever worn.
"Most hair-dos from a special event I can fluff & recycle for a few days," Judd posted following the 2012 Emmy Awards. "I'm not sure this #Emmys haute couture look can have a second life!"
Other celebrities among the night's worst dressed included Claire Danes. The pregnant "Homeland" actress opted for a yellow Lanvin dress that some onlookers said resembled a tent.
Also in yellow, Julianne Moore's bright Christian Dior gown saw criticism for failing to flatter the "Game Change" star.
HBO's "Girls" star Lena Dunham donned a modest floral Prada gown that also did little to flatter her figure.
Alternately, some 2012 Emmys attendees scored high points with fashion moguls, including Nicole Kidman. The actress, similar to Judd, attended the awards show with her husband, Keith Urban, and wore a blue bead-jeweled gown by Antonio Berardi paired with sleek hair.
Also earning praise from online fashion watchers, Heidi Klum's sea foam Alexander Vauthier gown paired with soft blond curls was among the night's "best" looks.
