Ashton Kutcher recently opened up about the life lessons he has learned stemming from his ongoing divorce from estranged wife Demi Moore.

The "Two and A Half Men" star filed for divorce from Moore after six years of marriage in December and he has vowed to apply lessons learned to his current relationship with actress Mila Kunis. The pair, who once worked together on "That 70's Show," has been dating for one year.

"You know, I've learned the hard way how valuable privacy is and I've learned that there are a lot of things in your life that really benefit from being private," Kutcher told Elle magazine.

"And relationships are one of them. And I am going to do everything in my power to have this relationship be private," he added.

In 2011, Moore, 50, was left heartbroken after photos of Kutcher's tryst with 22-year-old Administrative Assistant Sara Leal were made public. Leal reportedly took photos of her night with Kutcher at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego and swiftly sold her story to a tabloid, which led Moore to end their marriage.

"When you become well known, you start to have suspicions about people's intentions that you're becoming close with," Kutcher said, alluding to how the affair impacted his life.

"I have a little bit of naïveté about trusting people with the notion that if you share and if you give to people, they'll respect your privacy in turn. Unfortunately, that's not the case," he continued.

Kutcher, 33, received widespread criticism over his affair with Leal. Subsequently various critics have openly doubted his ability to remain faithful during his relationship with Kunis, 28. The actor also attributed these misperceptions to certain acting gigs.

"People fill in the blanks really fast. They go, 'Oh my God, he's on a show and [plays] stupid, so he must be stupid,'" Kutcher explained. "I can't control that, nor do I try to, nor do I want to."

Despite his divorce from Moore, Kutcher still reportedly maintains a close relationship with the actress' three daughters. Various media outlets claim that this has caused a rift between Moore and her daughters, which could be the reason that he refuses to talk about the situation.

"There are some things that are better left private," he said with regards to his relationship with Moore's daughters.
