Ashton Kutcher reportedly hopes to "revive" Jessica Simpson's acting career by placing her in a comedy film with his girlfriend, Mila Kunis.
The Hollywood actor, 35, once starred alongside both Kunis, 29, and Simpson, 33, on "That '70s Show" and he reportedly believes that they would have good on-air chemistry. Kunis played the role of Kutcher's girlfriend on the 1998-2006 sitcom and at one point Simpson played his love interest in a recurring role.
"Ashton has an excellent professional relationship with Jessica and is eager to revive her on-air career–by pairing her with Mila in a movie comedy," a source told RadarOnline.com.
"Ashton loves Jessica's whole vibe and wishes he could personally take control of her career, but for now he's on the hunt for scripts and writers that could position Mila and Jessica as a comedy duo," the insider revealed.
The report comes one month after sources claimed Simpson is completely done with acting. The mother-of-two launched her showbiz career as a singer more than a decade ago and briefly dabbled in acting.
She has since stepped away from singing and acting to focus on her lucrative fashion empire and motherhood.
"Jessica has told friends that she's 100 percent done with acting and never wants to read another script," a source said.
"Although critics laugh about her 'acting,' the truth is, she could make a couple of million dollars a year just with the network guest starring roles she's offered as well as TV commercials, which she doesn't enjoy," the source explained.
While Kutcher's plans to revive the fashion mogul's acting career are likely to fall short, he is reportedly determined to pair her with Kunis.
"The thing with Ashton – and everyone knows this – he often talks a bigger game than he can actually deliver," the source sniped. "Jessica has ZERO intention of ever acting again but Ashton's convinced he'll get her to sign on if he finds the right project."
