"The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we're excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date."

While the video game developer has yet to announce which platforms the new release will be available in, Segment Next has speculated that "Rogue" may be developed for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 by September 2015 at the latest.

The game is anticipated to be similar to its console counterparts in many ways except for the addition of an eye-tracking system. This capability will be utilizing technology from either Sentry from SteelSeries or Tobii EyeX by Tobii Tech, enabling gamers to control the line of sight and camera movement as the hero, former assassin Shay Patrick Cormac continues his transformation to become a Templar, all set in the mid-19th Century during the Seven Years' War.

Ubisoft also made the announcement that the movie adaptation of the original "Assasin's Creed" is due out in theaters in 2016. Oscar-winning French actress, Marion Cotillard ("Two Days, One Night," "La Vie en Rose") will be joining Michael Fassbender and Gina Carano in an as-yet unknown role.
