Asus Sells ZenFone 2 Laser With 6-inch Screen In India

Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer Asus unveiled a new model of its Asus ZenFone 2 Laser in India, this time with a much larger display than the first two models of the phone. The phone with model number ZE601KL will only be available in India and will come with a 6-inch display, according to a report in Tech Times.

The phone's price point will be Rs. 17,999 or roughly $275 and will be mainly available via e-commerce vendors like Snapdeal, Amazon and Flipkart. After mid-December, the device will be on sale via physical stores in the country as well. Color options for this model are Gold, Red and Silver.

According to the Tech Times report, this is the third model of the ZenFone 2 Laser that has been made available in the Indian market. A smaller ZenFone 2 Laser 5.5 was released in October which has a 5.5-inch screen, while a much smaller ZenFone 2 Laser 5 is also available. The latter has a 5-inch screen.

The specs of the 6-inch ZenFone 2 Laser include a full HD IPS screen with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. Corning Gorilla Glass 4 is available to provide screen protection. Under the hood, the phone is powered by an octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 paired with 3 GB of RAM. Internal storage is at 16 GB but is expandable up to 128 GB via a microSD card slot.

Camera-wise, the device has a 13 megapixel rear facing camera with LED flash and autofocus feature and an f2.0 aperture, while its selfie front camera is a 5 megapixel shooter. Connectivity options are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G, GPRS/EDGE and Glonass 3G. A micro-USB port is also found on the phone. There is also support for 4G but only for Indian bands.

A 3,000 mAh battery powers the smartphone. It is also equipped with various sensors such as a proximity sensor, a gyroscope, e-compass, accelerometer and ambient lights.
