Asus ZenFone 2 Specs, Release Date: Advanced Features But Maintains Affordable Price

Asus unveiled ZenFone 2, which is the first smartphone with a 64-bit processor and 4 GB RAM but with an affordable price.

The smaller Zenfone 2, with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB internal storage has a starting price of $199. The price of the 4 GB version has not been announced as of this time.

The Asus Zenfone 2 is a 5.5-inch handset with an aluminum back case. The volume buttons are located at the center of the back part and the power button is on the top part of the device. The front part is colored black and the buyer may choose from gold, gray, red and white colors.

Display

The screen has an IPS LCD Display that boasts a full HD resolution and 403 pixels per inch. The screen has an anti-fingerprint coating that protects the Zenfone 2 from scratches and friction, which makes the screen smoother. The saturation and contrast is good as well as the viewing angles.

Software

Asus Zenfone 2 runs with Android 5.0 and sports a reconstructed ZenUI, which allows the user to customize easily. It is equipped with Pixel Master that can capture and adjust brightness up to 400 percent despite low light.

Performance

The Zenfone 2 facilitates easy multi tasking due to its 4 GB of RAM and a 64-bit chip. The device is responsive and very easy and smooth to use. The user can choose from 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB handsets with expandable microSD storage.

Camera

The main camera has 13 mega pixels while the front facing camera has 5 mega pixels both with f/2.0 opening. As mentioned, Pixel Master makes object clearer even in dark areas and rooms.

Battery

Asus Zenfone 2 has a non-removable 3,000 mAh battery that charges quickly.

Release Date

Asus ZenFone 2 will be available in March 2015 and a more advanced version, which is the ZenFone Zoom will be released on the second quarter of the year.
