Asus Zenfone 6 vs. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Review: Comparison of Specs, Features and Price

Phablets are not very popular with people with small hands but they find a nice niche within the consumer market with their big, bright displays and powerful processors which can be used in most things from mobile web browsing to playing games.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 faces stiff competition from the newer releases this late 2014 like the iPhone 6 Plus, or the Nexus 6. Other less known brands like the Asus Zenfone 6 however, offer lower-priced phones with decent specs.

First, the Asus Zenfone 6. It has a 6.0-inch touchscreen with a display resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Its screen is way bigger than the Note 4's 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen but its display resolution pales in comparison against the Note 4's QHD resolution.

Inside the Zenfone 6 is an Intel Atom Z2580 chipset with a dual-core 2.0GHz processor and a PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU. The Note 4 on the other hand has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset and a quad-core 2.7GHz processor and an Adreno 420 GPU. Clearly, as a the newer handset, the Note 4 is more powerful but the Zenfone also has nice specs as a gaming handset.

The Asus phablet comes in three storage options, the 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB variants all with either 1GB or 2GB of RAM and microSD card support of up to 64GB. The Note 4 on the other hand only has the 32GB variant with 3GB of RAM but can support microSD cards of up to 128GB.

The Zenfone 6 has a 13-megapixel rear facing camera and a 2-megapixel front facing one. It's a powerful offering, considering that most of the newer phablets only have up to 16-megapixel camera like the Note 4 has.

The Asus Zenfone 6 is priced at $275 while the Note 4 is priced at a hefty $950. The price might be a dealbreaker for most and would opt for cheaper alternatives. In the case of the Note 4 and the Zenfone 6, consumers save a lot more with the Zenfone 6 but get a better performing phablet with the Note 4.
