It has been a struggle for Bilbao as they lost their first two matches in the league against Barcelona and Eibar.

They failed to score in those matches but bounced back well as they hosted Getafe in a 3-1 victory.

However, they failed to replicate their form in the win as they faced Villareal and lost 3-1 away from home.

Among the players, it is only Adruiz who seems to be ready for the season as he already had three goals so far in the season. The only other player with a goal for the team is Raul Garcia.

They certainly needed all the goals they could get against Real Madrid. However, in this match, it was Sabin Merino, a midfielder, who scored the goal in the middle of the 66th minute. He was assisted by Susaeta, who is also a midfielder.

As for the Los Blancos, they have not been beaten in their first four matches in the league.

However, they were surprised by Sporting Gijon early in the season as they drew 0-0 to only get one point in the match.

They responded with a thrilling 5-0 win over Real Betis, followed by a 6-0 thumping of Espanyol.

Their last match was a 1-0 win over Granada at home.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been superb to start the season as the 30-year-old already has five goals so far in four matches.

Before this match, Karim Benzema was close behind as he had three goals in three matches for the team. Now, he has five goals, after scoring the two goals which brought Real Madrid to victory. His first goal came near the end of the 18th minute. His second goal came at the end of the 69th minute. He was assisted by Isco.

With this win, Real Madrid is now at the top of the standings chart. Bilbao is now at the 15th spot of the standings.
