The Falcons have fought fiercely to maintain their unbeaten start to the new season, and last week they scrapped through with a 30-28 win over Carolina. They will now head north to the Redskins in a big clash against their NFC rivals.

Atlanta have been one of the most exciting teams of the season so far. They come into this game with the third highest scoring offense in the entire league. They have managed to acquire that status in no small part thanks to MVP candidate Matt Ryan who has put on some immense displays.

Ryan will be looking forward to this game and will have noticed how the Redskins' defense has struggled against the pass. He will no doubt be looking to exploit that apparent weakness, and if Washington cannot fix that issue then they could be in for a long game.

However, Washington have been improving and they managed to claim a tight win against Tampa Bay in week 4. That will have been a good confidence boost for the team and they will be hoping to continue their resurgence against the Falcons.

The Redskins have become notoriously good starters to games; many times this season stretching out into the lead early on. However, worryingly they have all too easily gone off the boil and allowed teams to come back at them as the clock moves on. They will be looking to maintain their intensity today against the Falcons, and will need to if they are to become the first team to claim their scalp this season.
