Atlanta Hawks NBA Trade Rumors: Team Remains Active in Trade Market

With Kyle Korver gone and Paul Millsap off the trading block, the Atlanta Hawks haven't been that active in the trade market for the past few weeks. But it seems the team is not done yet after all and they may look to add more pieces to help them get deeper into the playoffs.

Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution wrote that the Hawks are actively looking to add to their current roster; however, he also noted that a deal before the deadline is not guaranteed.

Since the Hawks are keeping Millsap, they may as well focus on making the team better so they can do some damage in the playoffs. Basketball enthusiasts who have followed the Hawks will likely notice that they don't have much depth in the wing positions.

Thabo Sefolosha, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Kent Bazemore are solid players who have logged the most minutes at the small forward and shooting guard spots, but they can use some help. Taurean Prince, Lamar Patterson, and DeAndre' Bembry haven't been producing much this season, and while Mike Dunleavy has always been a reliable outside shooter, he's already 36.

Some people have suggested that the Hawks should look to acquire Wilson Chandler or Danilo Gallinari from the Denver Nuggets, but the team probably has to give up a lot for either one of the two. Aside from wing depth, the Hawks also need someone to back up Dennis Schroder at point guard. Let's face it, Malcolm Delaney hasn't been playing well.

With one pending free agent already gone in Korver, Vivlamore also believes that the Hawks may put Tiago Splitter on the trading block to entice teams who want to free up salary cap room for next season. Splitter is in the final year of his contract. Other Hawks players with expiring contracts include Hardaway, Sefolosha, Kris Humphries, Mike Muscala, and Mike Scott.
