'Attack on Titan' PlayStation News: Additional Gameplay Details Revealed

Koei Tecmo is gearing up for the upcoming release of its "Attack on Titan" game for PlayStation consoles by sharing more details about the game. First, it was the number of playable characters, then the revelation about a "hub world" in the game. More recently however, it has dropped brand new gameplay footage which show various "stages" of gameplay.

According to a report in Tech Times, the videos will give viewers what to expect from the game and the steps that need to be taken throughout the game. The hub world is a player's first stop where he or she needs to converse with other characters in order to accept missions. In the video, Levi was shown talking to commander Erwin.

The next video then showed an introductory scene which essentially lays the foundation for the mission and what is happening.

The third step, according to the videos, is where players need to employ their tactical maneuvering gear so that they can defeat the gigantic Titans. This is the longest part of the gameplay video featuring, according to the report, one of the characters, Levi, as he fights the Titans. Once the player defeats the Titans, a final scene is then shown which signals the end of the mission.

A Gematsu report also mentioned additional game details, which included new Titans namely the Armored Titan and the Beast Titan. Another gameplay feature is the signal flare, which is useful when a player needs help from allies. When it is fired, the player's allies will simultaneously attack the Titans. The player may also join his or her allies in the fight, but for a limited time only.

In order to earn rewards, players can accept "requests" from other characters and fulfill them. This can happen when players are back in camp. Weapons development can also be done at camp. This may mean upgrading one's weapon in order for the character to do better in battle.

The game is arriving for the PS4, the PS3 and the PS Vita on February 18 in Japan. Koei Tecmo said that a western release will be happening later in the year.
