'Attack on Titan' Season 2: July or August 2015 Date A Hoax, Manga to End in 3-4 Years

Latest news about the much-awaited anime show "Attack on Titan" season 2 confirms that it won't air on the rumored August 2015 date. However, there is good news for the fans, there will be a live-action movie about the popular anime series as well as a spin-off that will serve as a prequel to the main story.

Rumors of a 2015 release started off from a Singapore-based online store Otako House. The scoop spread like wild fire on numerous sites but iDigitalTimes gave off a sound logic on why Wit Studios decided to hold off the season 2 production.

The analysis, as quoted by the publication site, refers to the fact that season 1 was able to cover a "pretty substantial portion of the manga series – a little more than half of it, in fact."

This suggests that when season 2 will be pushed, "the anime would pass the material in the books." Latin Times said that production for the second anime season will probably commence when Volume 15 and 16 of the manga will be released.

In relation to the manga, the University of Tokyo Newspaper recently conducted an interview with "Attack on Titan" manga editor Shintaro Kawakubo. The talk revealed that the writers already had a "clear picture" of AOT's story arches, characters, mysteries and plot development.

With that in mind, Kawakubo disclosed that it will probably take three to four years for the hit series to finally close its curtains.

"The serialization is slated to end in three to four years, but 'Attack on Titan' is a work that will be passed down from generation to generation for a decade -- no, five decades," Kawabuko said further, suggesting that fans will see more continuation or spin-offs of the series even if the main story will be concluded that time.
