Additionally, as it is alleged that the upcoming season would run on the "Uprising" story arc, it is said that the anime series will have a longer story, indeed, when it returns next year.
As of this writing, it remains unclear if "Attack on Titan" season 3 will really adapt the "Uprising" arc from its manga counterpart. After all, apart from the fact that the said story arc was earlier rumored to be included in its season 2, the story arc is fitting for season 3 as it follows the events of the concluded season.
