Avalon to Launch Ninth Album with New Member

Renowned Christian vocalists Avalon recently welcomed a new member – who also happens to be an avid fan of the group.

"I have been a long-time fan of Avalon," says Jeremi Richardson, who was added to the group following the departure of Avalon band mate Jody McBrayer due to health complications.

"I first saw the group on tour with Crystal Lewis my sophomore year of college," Richardson recalls. "It was that same evening I made the decision to pursue a singing career. I am so honored to be part of the group and look forward to what the future holds for Avalon."

The vocalist has toured all over the United States with his singing and worship leading talents and also overseas to Jamaica, Bermuda and Israel. In addition, Richardson's voice can be heard on numerous recordings by Tribe Studios, Jeff Arthur Productions, WiseGuys Productions, Walt Disney Studios, Word Music, Brentwood-Benson, SpiritSound Music, and Integrity Music.

Richardson, who currently resides in Orlando, Fla., will join the award-winning group in time for the release of their ninth studio album, Another Time, Another Place: Timeless Christian Classics, on Feb. 26.

The album celebrates songs which have influenced the CCM (Contemporary Christian Music) genre as well as Avalon's career. The collection features CCM's most beloved songs, paying tribute to musical legends Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Twila Paris, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Crystal Lewis among others.

"These are songs that first made us want to do what we're doing today," says Greg Long of Avalon. "So many of these artists impacted us in a memorable way from before we began performing as a group until today."

An EP featuring "Another Time, Another Place," "God Is In Control" and "Thy Word" is currently available on iTunes and other major digital music outlets. There are plans for a major tour to launch spring 2008.
