'Bad Boys 3' Is Shooting Soon According to Will Smith

Will Smith seems to be on a roll recently, with a lineup of projects targeted for 2016. The actor has just finished filming for the much-anticipated anti-hero DC film "Suicide Squad," and already he's talking about a third installment for "Bad Boys."

There hasn't been a follow-up movie in 12 years for "Bad Boys 2." Michael Bay, who directed the movie in 2003, has his hands quite busy with his "Transformers" franchise so it's no wonder that if there were plans for a third movie, it would have been inevitably pushed back. Now, according to Screen Rant, after Joe Carnahan has become a viable option as a director, the chances of "Bad Boys 3" and "Bad Boys 4" coming to the big screens are bigger than ever. Carnahan is best known for directing movies like "The Grey" and "The A-Team," so it is certain that he's had more than enough experience in handling action films involving the talents of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.

Smith was recently on "Beat 1 Radio" and was interviewed by Zane Lowe. Although Carnahan has not been officially confirmed as the director, Sony has, however, officially announced the set dates for "Bad Boys 3" and "Bad Boys 4." Lowe was seemingly unaware of this official announcement as he mentioned to Smith that he was only aware of a "rumor" about of a new "Bad Boys" movie. Instead of being offended, Smith was sport enough as he happily replied, "There's a very, very, very strong possibility that you will be seeing a Bad Boys within the next 12-16 months."

What Smith didn't confirm, though, was if he will be starring once again in the film because there is a possibility for Smith to be only involved as a producer in the next "Bad Boys" movie. For now, fans can look forward to the laughter and action that "Bad Boys 3" will bring when it hits theaters on its scheduled release date of February 17, 2017.
