'Bad Boys 3' Movie Premiere Date, News: Martin Lawrence Confirms Sequel

The Burnett-Lowery duo is now slated to return for more action as the third sequel of "Bad Boys" is officially announced.

The big news came from cast member Martin Lawrence himself during an interview with Conan O'Brien in the late night show "Conan."

"I believe [it's happening], yes," Martin told O'Brien. "I just talked to Jerry [Bruckheimer] yesterday, and he said it's real, [that] they're working on a script … it all looks good."

It has been evident for a while now that the 49-year-old actor was eager for more crazy car chase scenes and shootouts. Earlier in July, Lawrence wrote on his Facebook timeline a post celebrating "Bad Boys 2" release noting that: "11 years ago today, Bad Boys II was released in theaters."

Then segued to say that: "Feelin' it's about time for number 3 … what do you think Will Smith?"

Though fans from the actor's social media account expressed utter interest for another helping of the movie, his fictional crime-fighting partner Will Smith (Detective Mike Lowrey) hasn't still given a word about the invitation.

Show runner Jerry Bruckheimer pointed out that Smith is one of the reasons that the sequel had a hard time starting.

"It's so funny because we'll get Sony real excited to make the movie, and then Will [Smith] is off doing two movies," he told Collider.

The Lawrence and Smith on-screen partnership debuted in the 1995 "Bad Boys" film and continued on 2003's "Bad Boys 2," which earned the latter an Image Award nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture.

"Bad Boys " could be ready to hit the cinemas somewhere in late 2015.
