Barcelona vs AS Roma: Match Schedule, Preview

Details:
Date: Nov. 24, Tuesday
Venue: Camp Nou in Barcelona, Spain
TV Coverage: FOX Sports (US), BT Sports Europe (UK)

Barcelona is coming into this match super confident after soundly beating its rival, Real Madrid, with 4-0, last weekend. However, Luis Enrique believes that his team still hasn't played its best. This time, they'll be up against an equally difficult opponent in AS Roma on Tuesday, hoping to grab that spot in the Champions League knockout stages.

Good news for Barca is that Messi and Rakitic are expected to be back in action, though the team will still miss the services of Rafinha and Douglas to knee and foot injuries, respectively.

As for Roma, winning this matchup is easier said than done. The Italian side does not have the luxury of getting the services of Francesco Totti, Mohamed Salah, and Gervinho. It is still unclear if Daniele De Rossi is good to go.

However, It looks like of all the teams Barca faced so far, it is Roma who might have a chance to pull off a win. They drew the Spanish champs in Italy in their previous match and they haven't really been defeated. Likewise, they haven't won against elite teams in Europe away from home, the last one being a win against Basel back in 2010.

But based on Barca's previous home games against Roma, it looks like the Italians will have to beat the odds in this one. As a matter of fact, Barcelona has won seven of their last nine matchups; the other two were draws.

If there's one indication how this game would play out, it's the mere fact that Barca has won its last four games, and in the process scoring 12 goals without conceding even a single one to their opponents. That is how great the team's form is right now.

And if that's not enough bad news for the Italians, Barca superstar Lionel Messi will be making his first start for the first time in two months after suffering a knee injury.
