Chris Bacon explained in a webcam interview that "Bates Motel" is not a horror story, like what most viewers and fans say. The composer clarified that this "Psycho" prequel is all about the "twisted and misdirected" relationship between mother and son.

But he reiterated, "It is not a horror show."

What will become of Norman Bates?

Norma Bates breathed her last in the arms of her son, Norman. Her death was too much for him to handle and this made him more devastated and more obsessed with his mother.

There are rumors that Norman will finally unleash his fury on Sheriff Romero, who was able to be with his mother before she died. There are no details as to how Norman would finally deal with Romero. But based on what he was capable of doing in the past, Romero has surely met his match.
